Volunteering with Food Secure Canada

As the beginning of this school year is fast approaching, you may be thinking, “how can I get involved?” Thankfully NCU has got you covered! Have you ever heard of Food Secure Canada? Food Secure Canada is a pan-Canadian alliance of organizations and individuals working together to advance food security and food sovereignty. They are committed to Zero Hunger, A Sustainable Food System and Health and Safe Food. (http://foodsecurecanada.org) This year, Food Secure Canada will be hosting their 9th Assembly at Ryerson on October 13-16th. NCU wants to encourage you to get involved by volunteering at the upcoming assembly and/or attending.

Volunteers at this event will be provided with food, a chance to network, and free registration for day! Depending on your skill set and interests, you can choose to volunteer in Pre-Assembly Support, Media, Operations, and Accessibility.

This amazing experience will allow you participate in a variety of workshops and meet many different professional within the field of Food and Nutrition.
